One among the 52 Shakti Peethas of Maa Sati, this beautiful Maa Bhagwati's Temple/ Mandir lays in the opens and calm spiritual surroundings of the Thanesar town of District Kurukshetra in Haryana. Maa Bhadrakali’s Shrine is one of the oldest temples of the Ferocious Goddess, Maa Kali. Kurukshetra, which is primarily dedicated to pind daan and the place where Lord Krishna said the Geeta and where the great battle of Mahabharat took place, is also famous for this Maa's Temple. Before going to the fight, the Pandavas with Lord Krishna is said to have visited this temple and prayed for their victory of Dharma over Adharma and then later on after their victory presented Maa Kali a pair of horses at this temple. This Kali Mata/ Maa Kaali/ Bhadrakali temple is one of the primitive Shakti Peeth amongst the main 52 in this world. This temple is fully dedicated to Badrakhali, a stern form of Shakti. As per the famous Shiva-Sati story,, it is alleged that the Right Ankle of Mata Sati fell here in a well in front of this temple. Presently a metal right ankle idol has been placed in front of Maa Kali's main idol/ murti being worshipped by all. This Shaktipeeth is otherwise also refered as Savitripeeth, Devikoop, Kalikapeeth.
This temple is one of the Shaktipeeth of Lalita Devi. It is believed that fingers of Sati had fallen here but those parts disappeared from here that is why the goddess is known as Alopi Shankari Devi. The temple is unique in the sense that it doesn’t house any idol. A wooden jhula above a square marbled platform is the main deity, which is worshipped. Coconut & chunari are offered to the deity. Devotees gather here in large numbers during Navratries (Dushehra).
It is a temple dedicated to "Mother Sati", the wife of Lord Shiva. The story as told in Puranas suggests that the Alopi Temple was the place where the last remains of Mother Sati fell, when Shiva was sadly carrying them around the world. To bring Lord Shiva out of his mourning, Lord Vishnu threw his "Chakra' at the remains causing the remains to drop at various places on the earth. The last piece of the remains dropped at this place. Hence the place came to be known as "Alopi" meaning disappearance (of remains).

The word ‘Astrology is derived from two Greek words: Astra, which means a star, and Logos, which means a logic or reason. Astrology signifies the doctrine and law as depicted by the stars or planets. It is the study of the movement of the planets and the stars and how they influence us in our daily lives.

 Is Astrology a Science?
The answer is yes. It is basically a science of time. Every moment in time has a certain meaning, quality or significance attached to it. By being born at a particular moment in time as per astronomical chart, we imbibe this quality. Personal horoscope is our guide map for our journey through time on earth. It is believed that studying astrological chart or preparing birth chart is nothing short of studying science as it involves great deal of astronomy and its interpretation is based on certain recognised rules. A birth chart contains different combinations of planets to describe various situations in life, which include mental and physical abilities, profession, partnerships, marriage, children, and difficulties and so on.
The Importance of Vedic Astrology in our Live:
In this modern age of technology and science with heterodox thoughts and concepts, do you think astrology is significant? Astrology is an ancient concept, as old as time, you can say. It is an importance aspect of our lives – our past, present and future. To a great extent, astrology is used to forecast and predict future events and can also be used as a medium to get rid of any kind of mishap related to planetary positions. The concept that planetary bodies in the solar system can actually provide a vision of the future has fascinated people from a very long time. Our interests with astrology range from a regular glance at a newspaper’s zodiac signs section to making significant decisions in life related to marriage, finance and career and even predictions on health. It is known that many successful people have consulted astrologers to help make decisions in their lives.
 Modern Astrology Hypothesis
• A birth chart reveals our potential and what we can aim for.
• The symbols in a birth chart have to be decoded.
• All the viewpoints in the whole chart are connected with the planetary movements of the present time.
Significance of Planetary Movements in our Lives
One aspect of astrology is that it affects our lives. The different movements of the moon or the planetary movements or alignments affect our minds and emotions and we do not even realise this. The planetary positions at the time of our birth in the astrological chart can be compared with the planetary position of any time. This study will show how a particular planet or two influence our lives to a great extent at a given time. The result may be positive or negative, but these comparisons highlight the change in our lives or our moods and reactions to events. This is nothing but astrology.
The planetary movements not only have their impact on us, but we are also affected by the planetary movements of the people whom we deal regularly with, be it our parents, spouse, kids, relatives, friends, colleagues, bosses, acquaintances, etc. And these people are also affected by astrology as much as we are.
It has also been seen in many cases, people start believing in astrology at the times of disasters. Why? The word “disaster” is made up of two root words – “dis”, which means separation, and “aster”, which means star, thereby giving the meaning “separation from the stars”. This also gives a logical explanation of the influence of the movement of the stars in our lives. In short, the significance of astrology lies in the direct influence that the moon, stars and the eight planets have on our lives.
Why is Astrology Important?
The astrological birth chart of every one of us is independent of individual opinions. There are many instances in our lives when we arrive at the comparison mode of thinking though we know comparison is not good. Sometimes, we ask ourselves, “Why am I doing this? What is happening in my life? Why do I have to see this?” And so on. It is here that astrology brings a new opinion in our lives. Astrology does not mean we have to be solely dependent on fate. It lays emphasis on our karma and actions as astrology firmly believes in, “Today’s karma is tomorrow’s fate”.
Astrology lights the path known as life and it is entirely our choice as to whether we want to travel on this path or not. Astrology helps us to know how we can make the best possible use of these tools in our lives for our benefit when we see the bad phase in our lives. Astrology is the connecting chord among our past, present and future. It knows no caste, religion, gender or nationality. It simply concerns the important fundamentals of our everyday lives.

Collect Wealth As If You Are Immortal

This idea by Acharya Chanakya appears not so ethical. To understand this quote in its true context we will need to evaluate it from a non traditional view. Please have a look:

Is Money Evil?

Definitely not! nor it’s good. It is merely a tool that can do all kinds of damages as well as aid in accomplishing great things. Many spiritual Gurus says that “Money is evil and is the primary cause of troubles in life“. What they really mean is that “A man must have control on his Greed”.
If you are not a sanyasi, then it is very important for you to earn money and to increase your wealth. A man with wealth is considered wise and is given respect by others. People try to befriend him and to please him. This is what happens whether you like it or not.

Being Spiritual but Impractical is not Right:

Spirituality is awesome and equally awesome is the practical wisdom. One who is busy preparing for the next world should not ignore the realities of this world. Men with an impractical approach are either already extinct or will be extinct very soon. It’s said that inaction of good men within a society is sufficient for rise of evil within that society.

Not doing bad things is not equivalent to doing good things.
It is beyond reason why people focus too much on negative aspect of money. People are good and people are bad. At all times Goddess Lakshmi remains unbiased. Whoever please her receives the blessing.
In sanatan dharma there are many stories where boons were delivered to Asuras who misused them later. The story of Bhasmasur is quite famous. The overall conclusion can be summarized in following points:
  • People are good and people are bad. Wealth is just a means to accomplish good deeds or greedy objectives.
  • Money is significant and more you have better it is.
